Favourite Balms

I know that in most of my posts to date, I have shown off my favourite lipsticks, raving about them to my hearts content, don't be fooled though, on 'lazy, I don't want to do anything today' days, as well as the ones where I'm going to be spending all of my time at work, I love nothing more than to just whack on very minimal base make-up, a touch of mascara, and a bit of lip balm just to finish it off.

So I thought that I'd share with you my three favourite lip balms of the moment, as really I actually wear these muuuuch more often than any lipstick that I own, although I switch between them from day to day, I'd say that I get my fair share of use-age out of each of them!

Vaseline Limited Edition Paint The Town Red Lip Tint - £3.49
Blistex Daily Lip Conditioner - £2.59
Burts Bees Honey Lip Balm - £3.69

Now, Vaseline has always been my top dog, probably since I was around the age of 10 when I was first introduced to the amazing thing that was balms, purely because I've always felt that you cant go wrong with a touch of the stuff on the lips, to give them that bit of extra ooomphh and jazzle. When I saw a couple of weeks back, that they had a Limited Edition Paint the Town Red Lip Tint Vaseline - long name I know, I literally jumped up and down with excitement, and let me tell you, this stuff definitely does not disappoint. It just leaves your lips feeling so soft, smooth, and glossy, which I feel is relatively long lasting for a Vaseline product, and then along with that gorgeous red tint, it definitely leaves them looking scrummy and delicious!

The Blistex Daily Lip Conditioner, oooh my, I have never had a lip product make my lips not only feel smoother and softer, and all those other amazing words to describe a balm, but it actually makes them look it too, and within seconds of applying, can't complain with this one... and it smells all fresh and minty and lovely and yummy, what's not to like?

Mmmm the Burts Bees Honey Lip Balm, smells divine, you could actually nibble it all up - although I really wouldn't recommend doing so!! This little beauty I believe is 100% natural, its packed with amazing ingredients such as honey, as the name suggests, beeswax, shea butter, almond oil and lanolin, these ensure that you're lips are left feeling (and looking) soft, healthy, moisturised and nourished.

I'd love to read in the comments below what your favourite balms of the moment are, any suggestions would be very welcome, more than anything else, I'm definitely a bit of a lip balm junkie, I'm always trying new ones out :)

Although I know this is a short post, I hope that you enjoyed reading though.

Good Morning Tag

Hey lovelies!

1. What kind of alarm clock do you have?
I normally use my Sony Z1 mobile phone.

2. Do you have a snoozer?
No, I'm someone who hates waking any earlier than I should (when working) but I make sure that I've have the most annoying, droaning, sound set for the alarm tune, and I always set my phone down, away from my bed so I literally have to jump and get up to turn it off!

3. What do you do first when you wake up?
I will normally check for texts, social media, and then straight downstairs into the kitchen.

4. Coffee or tea?
I will normally have peppermint tea, only resort to coffee if I'm feeling particularly tired.

5. Window open or closed?
Closed! Outside my window is a porch with the front door, I get scared someone may find they're way inside, that would be a fright to wake up to!

6. Shower?
I always enjoy jumping into the shower, whilst my tea (of coffee) is cooling to drinking temperature.

7. Clothes already picked out?
On days off? Never, I always spend around 30 minutes switching and changing my mind on the day though!

8. Breakfast?
I'll eat anything from a bowl of mixed granola and musuli with milk or yogurt, some toast with peanut butter, poached eggs with a slice of toast, fruit, a little musuli and yogurt, yummy :)

9. TV, radio or silence?
I will normally just catch up on a load of youtube videos whilst I'm getting ready. Occasionally I'll listen to the radio.

10. When do you wake up?
If I'm working, 7am, if I'm not, normally anytime before 10:30am.

11. Mood?
Just tired, I take quite a while to start feeling refreshed aha

12. How do you sleep?
I will always go to sleep resting on my left side, can't sleep otherwise!

This is just a tag which I thought would be nice to take part in, so that you guys can get to know me a little better.

I tag anyone to do this!

Be sure to let me know in the comments, so that I can check yours out :)

The Orange Lip

Recently I've come to realise that I have quite the obsession, for wearing an orange lip with a neutral eye. Today I thought that it would be nice to share just a few of my favourites with you all.

No messing about today guys, lets jump straight in with my first pick, bearing in mind that these are in no particular order to preference.

This is one of the Revlon Color Burst Matte Balms in the shade 235 Mischievous, a gorgeous shade, a bit lighter in tone and definitely much more everyday appropriate than some of the others which I'm going to be showing today. These retail at £7.99 so not too pricey for a drug store brand. I do suggest applying this to the lips after having already applied a lip balm, as they do tend to apply a little patchy even though they feel very moisturising on the lips for a Matte product.

This next one is again one of the Revlon Color Burst Matte Balms, but this time its in the shade 245 Audacious, just by looking at the colour in the tube, I don't think it would appear too different from the previous Matte Balm that I showcased, however swatched on the lips it definitely comes out quite a bit bolder, but brighter.

Now this next little number from my orange lippy list, is one of the Revlon Color Burst Lipsticks in the shade Peach. This is one which used to get me very excited, its an old favourite which I used to wear almost everyday, its one which I've recently rediscovered in my collection, and I'm so pleased that I have. Although its still an orangey/peachy shade, I feel like its also a little more brown toned than the rest...

I've just realised whilst trying to find a link for you, that they don't make the Color Burst Lipsticks any more :( I'm sorry for those of you who never got a chance to try, but if anyone out there has an old one of these lying around in they're stash, you should definitely dig it out, and pop it onto your lips!

Don't be worrying though gaaals, this next one is definitely a lippy which is still shown on many shop shelves! It is Rimmel Londons Apocalips Lip Lacquer in 500 Luna, how lovely is this shade? I mean comon guys! Its so moisturising, and acts almost like a stain after a while, I've found that no matter how long I leave this one on the lips, you can still feel that moisture seeking through. This retails at a mere £6.49.

This last one is my favourite! Its MAC's Lipstick in A33 Vegas Volt which comes in at £15.50, although its the most expensive (I only own a handful of these myself) you can definitely see and feel that quality, from the second that you look at that clean, sleek packaging, to when you look at how shiny, soft almost the product looks in the bullet, to when you apply it onto your lips, oh my, its an Amplified formula, and there is nothing I can fault about this lippy, it so so smooth, creamy, moisturising, somewhat long wearing, pigmented, you can wear it sheerer by applying a little and just smoothing it out with your finger, or you can really go all out and build that colour up, which does so beautifully. Honestly....I could go on forever!

I hope that you enjoyed this post, just a little run down of my personal favourite orange lip products;
What's your favourite orange lip??
Any you can recommend?  I'd love to hear.

Also if you have any requests for future posts, I'd more than happily take those into consideration :D

Urban Decay Flushed Palette

Hey Dolls,

I had heard so many great things about the Urban Decay Flushed Palettes, that I just had to jump onto the "band wagon" and purchase one for myself! I've been using it for a little while now, so its the perfect time to let you all know my own opinion on it.

I ordered mine in the shade Streak. I'm just going to go straight out there by saying, look at that sleek, upmarket, gorgeous packaging!! This has fast become my bronze, highlight and blush of choice. The shades are so smooth, creamy, velvety almost, and blend out absolutely seamlessly, a little definitely goes a very long way, the blush shade especially, is so easy to go overboard on without meaning to, I've found that I only need to lightly tap my brush onto the shades to get that amazing colour pay off, which we all expect with higher quality cosmetics. I also love how the palette locks shut with a magnetic strip along the front, which you cant see at all. I can already be certain that if I happen to find myself going away for a period of time, or stay over night at a friends house, this will definitely be going into that make-up bag of mine.

Have you tried one of the Urban Decay Flushed Palettes? If so what did you think?

Eyes and Lips #1

Recently I have been absolutely loving wearing this make-up look, so what better thing to do at a time like this, than to share it with you guys?!
Just a little side note here, please do excuse the filthy packaging!

x

 1. So the very first step to this is to prime the lids in some way, I just applied a tiny bit of my Vichy Dermablend Corrective Foundation, this does a wonderful job of neutralising any redness or discolouration of the lids, I also find that any eye-shadow sticks beautifully to it, ensuring that the look lasts all day long.

2. I then take an old flat eye shadow-brush which I normally have lying around in my stash, to apply the first pale gold/champagne-y shade of my Estee Lauder Duo in 'Raisins' over the entire lid.

3.The next step is to take a blending brush, to apply the next colour, which is a sort of gorgeous burgundy, with a little mix of purple-y pink shade, I like to take this little by little, to build the colour up to the intensity that I like without any risk of going too over board. I also applied a bit of this shade to my lower lash line, which just makes this whole look appear so much more polished, which you'll definitely see at the end.
You can always intensify the look further by adding a little extra touch of matte black to the outer corners, ensuring that its blended well with no harsh edges.

Estee Lauder Palette in Raisins - £24.72

4. Next I applied the shade Foxy, which is the first colour in the Naked 2 Palette, this is a lovely pale yellowy skin toned shadow, just below my brow bone, I find that by doing this, you can make the over all eye area look a lot cleaner and brighter. Its amazing what a difference this simple step makes.

Urban Decay Naked 2 Palette - £37.00

5. Now to make my eyes look both, more wide awake and bolder, by adding a bit of my Loreal Super Liner Perfect Slim in Intense Black, just on my upper lash line, I do like to ensure that there's a little flick at the outer corners, but I find it sooo hard to get both eyes to turn out the same, does anyone else have this problem??!

Loreal Super Liner Perfect Slim in Intense Black - £6.99

6. This is by far my favourite step of any make-up look... the lippy of course! Its the Rimmel Apocalips in the shade Luna, (I think I may have a slight obsession with orange lips at the moment, you just cant beat them).

Rimmel Apocalips in Luna - £6.49

So here's the finished look;

PS, I know that my pupils look quite large and honestly a little cray, I'm Type 1 Diabetic and had an annual eye screening appointment to go to this morning, I got home and honestly it seemed that it was taking hours for my pupils to get back to normal, I just couldn't wait, I really wanted to get another post up for you guys, I hope you don't mind and also that you enjoyed this little read:)

Skincare Routine #1

Hey beauties,
today I thought I'd write a post explaining all that I can, to do with my skin care routine. I do the exact same thing each morning and evening, but I do definitely like to add in the odd treat preferably 2 times a week on my days off from work.

Loreal Cleansing Milk - £3.99 - Boots Neutrogena Visibly Clear 2-in-1 - £3.79 - Boots
Simple Soothing Facial Toner - £2.99 - Boots

As you can see my skin care routine is very basic, but it definitely does work great on my skin, and keeps me breakout free the majority of the time, although you can see in the image below that I do have two beast mountain spots just off from my mouth that's been lingering for around two weeks now, its a stubborn one that's for sure! Seriously though if anyone knows of any ground breaking products that work for them, for use on existing spots, please do let me know I'd be most grateful :-)
Anyway lets run through the steps of my routine.

1. First off I like to take a coin sized blob of the Loreal Skin Perfection Cleansing and Perfecting Milk onto a cotton pad, I take it over one of my eyes, where I like to give it a little 'wiggle wiggle' onto my mascara packed lashes, even with waterproof mascara I find that this eliminates it without tugging at the lashes, some cleansers make my lids sore after using them, this definitely isn't one of those products, it feels so gentle, soothing on the skin, next I like to take one more blob onto that same cotton pad, ready to take over the other eye, and apply another blob to smooth over my face, it removes foundation effortlessly! I then like to take a clean cotton pad, add a yet another blob of the cleansing milk, to take over my face once more ready for the next step.

2. I then like to take a dollop of the Neutrogena Visibly Clear 2-in-1 wash and mask onto my fingers, run it under a gentle warm tap, this is just to ensure that it lathers nicely on my face, and apply in circular motions all over, I do like to take just a tiny bit over my eyes to ensure that there's no remaining make-up in this area. I rinse my face with some warm water, pat dry with a nearby towel, and repeat.

3. This is my last step, its the Simple Kind to Skin Soothing Facial Toner. I like to take one more cotton pad, and drench it in the toner, I then wipe it in upwards motions onto my face...believe me, you will be shocked at how much make-up still shows on this pad even after those previous steps! I like to repeat this once more, each time using a new pad, until no make-up shows at the end.

Palmers Purifying Mask - £6.39 - Feel Unique Botanics Shine Away Clay Mask - £6.99 - Boots
Origins Out of Trouble Mask - £23.00 - Boots

These are the current face masks that I'm using on my skin, although sometimes I do also like to use the Neutrogena Visibly Clear 2-in-1 Wash and Mask, as mentioned previously as a mask too. Each of these I enjoy a lot, in fact both the Palmers Cocoa Butter Formula Purifying Mask and the Origins Out of Trouble 10 Minute Mask are almost empty, as much as I enjoy using them, I'm not 100% sure yet if I'm going to repurchase or if I want to try something new to possibly shine into the spotlight, each of the four all make my skin feel so soft, smooth, cleansed, fresh, I love how they ever so slightly tingle on the skin, its almost as though you can feel them working as you wait for that 10 minute mark, which is normally where I like to grab a cuppa tea and watch a you tube video or read through a couple of blog posts from my favourite people :-)

Please excuse the morning hair in the photo below!

Trip To Brighton

Not too long ago I went on a trip to Brighton with my best friend, I'm going to cut straight to the chase here and say that we both loved it there so so much! Such an amazing city, I really like the contrast that it has between the City and the beachy waterfront area, you'll see what I mean when you view the photos below. We were sure to have made the very most of the night life (which was buzzing may I add) but also walked from where we were staying (around a mile-2 miles out) to the city centre each day, explored the Lanes, (the shops in that area are just the sweetest, so many cute little cafes, restaurants, the cake shop we found was to die for, but there were also a lot of little boutique-y shops which were so lovely and just added to the overall character of the Lanes). We spent a day on the Pier too, then at sunset we walked across the road to have cocktails just opposite where we were able to sit outside and watch the world go by, while the sun glowed shades of orange and red over everything, was a beautiful evening, and definitely a beautiful weekend, if you've never been, I do highly recommend it!

Haul #1

Today I went into town with my mum, its not often that we get to do that sort of thing together, it really was lovely... I didn't plan on buying much at all however, I'm not going to lie, I did make a little damage on my bank account, anyway lets get into what I bought..

:-)

Batiste Dry Shampoo - £2.99 each
The first shop which we ventured into was Boots, where I picked up something which I always need a supply of in my hair care stash, whether it be the Batiste sort, Dove, or VO5, was dry shampoo, I picked up two, at £2.99 a pop, I go through this stuff like wild fire, I mean comon, who wants to wash they're hair every single day?!

Left- 312 ULTRA VIOLET Right- 244 GODDESS - £4.49 each
Rimmel Stay Matte Primer - £5.99
Rimmel Natural Bronze - Normal price of £5.99
- Nails, Rimmel Salon Pro in Peppermint - £4.49

Next as I was browsing through all of the cosmetic stands, the Rimmel London one caught my eye, with a little sign saying that if you spent £9.00 or more, you could pick up one of there Natural Bronzers for absolutely free, well this was right up my street, as I knew that I was in need of a primer, and a bronzer, but thought that I'd also pick up a couple of nail polishes too whilst I was at it, purely because I thought the colours looked gorgeous! ...
On a side note I really do need to change my nail polish, sorry guys!

Left- Maxfactor Glossy Topcoat - £5.99 Right- Barry M Polish in Lemon - £2.99
Its been a while since I've treated myself to a couple of nail polishes, so I thought why not get another, this colour from Barry M caught my eye, I've been wanting this sort of shade for the longest time! And as my previous topcoat was waaaay past its best before (went all thick, gloopy and well, unusable) I thought I'd give this Maxfactor one a shot.

Burts Bees Tinted Lip Balm in Petunia - £4.25
The last thing I picked up from Boots was this tinted lip balm, my lips seem to get so dry, chapped and just plain flaky this time of year, I literally live by the Burts Bees ones, they're so moisturising and soothing almost, seriously if you haven't tried one of these already, I highly recommend that you pick one up!

VANS Lo Pros - £47.99

The next store I found myself not being able to resist having a looksie inside was VANS, I do actually already have a navy pair of the Authentics I think they are, which I live in, I cant believe quite how comfortable they are, I got them last year, they are still going strong with pretty much daily use, so I just had to pick up another pair, this time I went for the Authentic Lo Pros, in a light grey colour, they look like they have a slight blue tinge in the photo above, but I promise you, they are all grey!

At this point I decided that I really should restrain my urge to spend loads more from different stores, and told myself that I could only purchase goods from one more, as my mum wanted to have a look in M&S anyway, I thought why not have a look in there too?
...Please excuse the mess which you may witness in the images below, Its all tidy now.. I promise! :-D

M&S Per Una jumper in Lavender - £35.00

I really liked that this jumper was a little different from any I'd seen before, with the gorgeous purple specks peaking through the grey material, its so comfortable, and has such a nice fit,  I can already tell that I'm going to get a lot of wear out of this piece.
.
M&S Per Una Jumper in Multi - £35.00

This next one, from the second I saw it hanging there on the rail, it gained a very special place in my heart, I'm in love with the colouring going through the knit, it definitely adds that little extra something to the jumper, the fit again is nice, its light weight so it will be nice for summer evenings, or even layered up in the colder months, I just love it!
Hope you enjoyed this post, laters
